Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that promotes deep relaxation and wellbeing. Reducing stress in people's lives can be essential in optimising good health and building resilience.

It's a touch therapy based on the theory that different pressure points on the feet, hands or ears, correspond with areas of the body, and reflexologists work these points to rebalance the body's energy.

Reflexology can be used safely alongside standard healthcare to promote better health for their clients.

Reflexologists do not diagnose, prescribe or cure. Instead, it is a complementary therapy that works alongside any other medical treatment.

Traditional reflexology

This is a gentle and relaxing treatment based on the principle that different points on the hands or feet known as reflexes correspond with different areas of the body. Pressure is applied to these reflexes which can assist in restoring the body's natural balance, promoting an improved physical and emotional well-being. Reflexology can be used as a natural care tool for relaxation. It is also shown to help with:

  • Aches and pains
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Digestive disorders
  • Stress related conditions
  • Sleeping disorders
  • Hormone imbalance / menopause

On the first treatment a consultation will take place to help inform and create a treatment plan specific to each client's needs. This is always reviewed before every treatment.

Sessions are £35 and last approximately 60 minutes. (First treatment with consultation can take 75-90 mins)

RLD (Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage)

This unique treatment is available for those with lymphedema. It focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet, which aims to affect the lymphatic system, helping to reduce symptoms caused by lymphedema. RLD can also be used with the following conditions::

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME)
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS)
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Arthritis
  • Sinusitis / hay fever
  • Headaches / migraines
  • Digestive issues such as IBS colitis Crohn's

Sessions are £35 and last approximately 60 minutes.

Aromaflex

This is combining essential oils with the reflexology treatment. A unique blend of oils is created with the client which compliments and supports the health needs on that day. There is a choice of 12 essential oils.

Sessions are £35 and last approximately 75 minutes.

Reflexology tasters

The focus of the session is relaxation and gives you a chance to experience reflexology for the first time. It makes a lovely gift for someone who deserves a treat.

Sessions are £15 and last approximately 25 minutes.

Side Effects

Side effects typically do not last for more than 24 hours. The most common physical side effects are the reaction to the body releasing toxins:

  • Increased urination as kidneys are stimulated
  • Flatulence and more frequent bowel movements
  • Aggravated skin conditions – perspiration and pimples
  • Improved skin tone and tissue texture due to improved circulation
  • Dizziness or nausea

Whatever the reactions, it is all part of the healing process. It's suggested to drink room temperature water with either lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to help accelerate the flushing of toxins.
